The sport
Six things that make it futsal
Enough to follow a first half at the Arena. Everything else you pick up live.
The ball
Size 4, low bounce. Stays on the floor — control and combination, not a long bounce.
Kick-ins
Out of play restarts with a kick, not a throw. Keepers still use hands in their area.
Foul count
Team fouls stack each half. From the sixth, free kicks become set-piece weapons.
Clock
Two periods. The clock stops on dead balls. Timeouts and a flying keeper swing tight nights.
No walls
Lines are law. FIFA futsal is open-sided — angles and positioning decide possession.

The court is the product
A lot of U.S. futsal is a basketball gym with goals. International futsal is a 40×20 game. Lansing City Arena is FIFA-legal — own house, open-sided play, youth and first teams on the same floor.
