A Historic Home Opener
On June 23rd at 7 PM, Lansing City Futsal will take on Sporting Maryland in City's National League Home Opener.
This will be the first time an East Coast professional Futsal team will play in Lansing.
WHAT A GAME IT IS GOING TO BE!
Sporting Maryland features some veteran powerhouses on their roster like Vinicius Dantas from the MASL's Baltimore Blast, Ryan Russell who featured at the Pacific Cup with U.S Futsal's Team USA, and Daniel Peruzzi who also plays for MASL's Baltimore Blast and played in Italy for Milano Calcio. Lansing City is a young team with up and coming stars like Lito Esquivel who featured on Team USA at the Super Copa in 2015, Mateus Washington from Sao Paulo, Brazil who is ready to burst on to the American Futsal scene, and Jeremy Klepal who was also selected to U.S Futsal's, Team USA, at the Pacific Cup of Nations in 2016.
Sporting Maryland's Vincius Dantas
Sporting Maryland's Ryan Russell
Lansing City's Jeremy Klepal
Lansing's City's Mateus Washington
Both teams play a high flying attacking style of futsal, and both teams have acrobatic keepers in Sporting's Ryan Shifflet and Lansing City's Danny Buegar. Who will win? Time will tell. But one thing is for sure. With these two teams playing, the game is sure to be incredibly fast and absolutely thrilling to watch.
