Share
Interviewer: Do you remember what your first futsal game was like? how did you feel?
Danny Buegar: I played for the City reserves for my first game and played against the Phoenix from Fort WAyne. I think that was my first one. AS for my debut for the professional side, my first game would have been against Sporting Maryland in Baltimore. haha it was a tough one to start with. They are one of the best teams in the country. It was definitely eye opening.
Interviewer: WHat about your first home game experience?
Danny Buegar: my first home game was against Sporting Maryland. That was an amazing experience. We ended up winning that game, in a crazy home environment. It was so cool. I think that was one of the best performances I have had. I will remember that game for a long time.
Interviewer: You are definitely a fan favorite for City and from what we have heard, are known around the team for having a "fan club". how does that make you feel?
Danny Buegar: It makes me feel like I am a part of something big (with city). It is a cool feeling to be a part of something that people really look forward to. That part is awesome.
Interviewer: You have an acrobatic approach when it comes to goalkeeping. Where did you develop that style?
Danny Buegar: I think it comes from growing up in Liberia and having a competitive nature. I think that is why sometimes it might seem acrobatic. haha I am just trying not to get scored on. no matter how it looks like or how I have to contort my body, im going to stop ball.
Interviewer: The City team has a lot of different people from various backgrounds and cultures. How is the experience at training and in games considering this?
Danny Buegar: definitely a lively atmosphere. It makes things exciting when you see where people come from how that translates to how they play. AS a goalkeeper, you really have to try to tie that all together and help people blend as a team.
Interviewer: What are you looking forward to most this coming season?
Danny Buegar: Competing at a high level. in the national league season we didn't finish how we wanted to. We missed out on the playoffs by one game and that was tough. WE are all hungry to come out and dominate this winter. but most of all I am really excited about what has happened and is happening at City. Not sure if I am allowed to say yet. but what has happened is really cool. looking forward to that being announced.
