NFPL Season Coming up!

City has been making strides to elevate Futsal to a new level both in Michigan and in the United States. The announcement of the Lansing City Arena, was a huge step in the right direction for both the club and for the sport. The game of futsal is such an amazing and exciting game it deserves a place in the mainstream lineup of professional sports in the USA. The Arena was a big step. City's attention is now turned to the NFPL season slated to start in January. In preparation for the season, City's head coach, Jacob Derby, signed six key players. Since that time he has added another fourteen players. Today we are covering the first 6 key signings for City

Klepal, Buegar & Wilson-Santos

These three guys have been with City for a while now! We have witnessed their brilliance and are ecstatic to have them back!

DANNY BUEGAR - BUEGAR FEATURED FOR THE AMF US NATIONAL TEAM IN THE WORLD CUP QUALIFIERS THIS WINTER! DANNY IS A SUCCESS STORY IF THERE EVER WAS ONE. HIS ENERGETIC STYLE AND ABSOLUTE GAME CHANGING SAVES HAVE REPEATEDLY KEPT HIM AT THE TOP OF THE HEAP OF KEEPERS IN THE PROFESSIONAL LEAGUES. HIS ACROBATIC SAVES HAVE EARNED A REPUTATION FOR THEMSELVES, AND HIS LIKABLE PERSONALITY AND SMILE HAS MADE HIM A STAR BOTH ON AND OFF THE COURT. THE CITY TEAM SEEMS TO CHANGE WHEN THIS GUY IS ON THE COURT. WE CANNOT SAY HOW GLAD WE ARE TO HAVE THIS GUY BACK! 

Jeremy Klepal - Klepal has featured for the U.S Futsal Federation's National team in the Pacific Cup in 2016, for the AMF US National team in the World Cup Qualifiers this Winter and for Sao paulo, Fc in the Liga paulista in Brazil. His skill on the ball astounds fans and his rip roaring shot has racked up over 40 goals in the past year. His ability to create attacking opportunities for city is second to none. He has been City's mainstay since the inception of the club. We are pumped to witness the jaw-dropping moments produced by this guy again this season! 

Jared Wilson-Santos  - Wilson-Santos has been with the club since the inception. He is a lock down defensive force who has pulled off game saving tackles for City time and time again. His ability to read the game and outsmart the other team is second to none. he is Absolute clutch in the pressure of the moment. Jared has scored one game winning goal after another. Nothing gets to or through this guy. He is a rock to the team on the court. Watch out Wilson-santos is back! 

Clarke, Segura, and Belliard

Nathan Clarke - Nathan featured for city for one game in the Summer National league season and boy was he impressive! his ability to zip the ball across the court and defensively lock down attackers elevated the team. he can smack the ball with both feet, and is dangerous the second he crosses mid-court. this season marks his full season debut for city and the expectations are high for this guy! We cannot wait to witness this!

Nelson Segura - Nelson played professional futsal in VENEZUELA AND FEATURED FOR THE VENEZUELAN FUTSAL NATIONAL TEAM! hE IS AN EXTREMELY TALENTED PLAYER WHOSE FUTSAL iq is through the roof! he is a rock solid defender and can create on the attack with expert precision. His ability to rotate and smoothly transition the ball from one player to another is exceptional. simply put this guy is a futsal stud. He will make his first season debut with city this year Watch out. 

Emmanuel Belliard - Belliard played professional futsal in spain and in the dominican republic before joining city last winter. He had limited minutes due to injury and is set to come back full force this winter. Belliard is a master on the ball who can create somethings out of nothings. His ability to rotate to create attacking opportunities is exceptional. We are pumped to see this guy in full form this winter!
